Auckland outer suburbs resist 9% CV drop, city centre sees 14% fall

Property values in Auckland’s outer suburbs have fared better than the regional average drop of 9%, while properties closer to the city center saw valuations decline by about 14%, leading to lower rates. According to council chief finance officer Ross Tucker, changes in rates will depend on how property values compare to this 9% average decrease. Notably, areas such as the Hibiscus Coast, Albany, Hobsonville, Greenhithe, and parts of rural Rodney and Franklin have maintained their value, with some properties on Great Barrier Island experiencing a significant increase of 38%.
