Repairs begin on Middleton Beach swim enclosure damaged by extreme tides, swell and shifting sand

The City of Albany has reported that the Middleton Beach swimming enclosure was damaged due to recent extreme tides and swells, necessitating further repairs. Inspections revealed that a 50m section was damaged, and while temporary repairs have been made, the enclosure is not fully intact; full repairs, which include removing and reinstalling a 150m section, are planned for July. Advisory signage has been placed along the beach to inform swimmers of the situation until repairs are completed, which are expected to take around five days, weather permitting.
