Polls indicate a close race between Dutch far-right PVV party and the Labour/Green Left alliance.
Dutch voters will participate in snap elections on October 29, following the collapse of the right-wing coalition after Geert Wilders’s PVV party withdrew over immigration policy disputes. Polls show a tight race between the PVV, which has seen a slight dip in support, and the Labour/Green Left alliance, led by Frans Timmermans, while the centre-right VVD trails behind. Prime Minister Dick Schoof’s cabinet will act in a caretaker role until a new government is established.
