In Chandigarh, judicial responsibilities have been withdrawn from Tejwinder Singh, a senior district and sessions judge in Punjab, following the Punjab and Haryana High Court administration’s recommendation for his compulsory retirement. Known for his competence, Singh gained prominence for convicting six individuals in the notorious Kathua rape and murder case and has served in various judicial roles since joining the Punjab judicial services in 1991. The Punjab government will officially notify the decision regarding his retirement as part of standard procedure.
