More than 15,000 pounds of beef jerky and other meat products from Springville Meat & Cold Storage Co. have been recalled in the US due to undeclared anchovies, an allergen not listed on the labels. The recall affects ready-to-eat beef jerky, beef snack sticks, and various jerky products made between May 30, 2023, and May 30, 2024, all marked with establishment number EST 20528. Customers are advised to discard or return the products, although no illnesses have been reported, and the USDA has also issued a health alert for ground beef sold at Whole Foods Market over possible E. coli contamination.
