A teacher, whose identity remains confidential, was denied the opportunity to “retire with dignity” after being found guilty of having sexual relations with a male student and kissing another student early in her teaching career during the 1980s. It took nearly four decades for one of the affected students to report the incidents to the Teaching Council, expressing feelings of being “unclean, abused, and misused,” which negatively impacted his academic performance and led to substance abuse issues. Despite her request for leniency, the Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal ruled against her.
