Man accused of writing Trump assassination letters was framed, officials say

A man accused of threatening to assassinate President Trump, Ramon Morales-Reyes, was framed, according to investigators. Initially arrested for sending threatening letters, evidence now suggests the true author is Demetric Deshawn Scott, who allegedly sought to intimidate Morales-Reyes to prevent his testimony in a robbery case against Scott. Despite being cleared of the threats, Morales-Reyes remains in custody for deportation proceedings, while Scott faces multiple felony charges related to the robbery, with his trial scheduled for July.
