The OpenAI Board Drama Is Turning Into a Movie

Luca Guadagnino is in negotiations to direct “Artificial,” a film about Sam Altman’s firing and subsequent reinstatement at OpenAI in 2023, produced by Amazon-MGM. The movie is expected to feature Andrew Garfield as Altman, Monica Barbaro as chief technology officer Mira Murati, and Yura Borisov as co-founder Ilya Sutskever, with production potentially starting this summer in San Francisco and Italy. The script is penned by Simon Rich, who will also produce alongside David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford from Heyday Films.
