Microsoft has announced that the Authenticator app will discontinue password management features, with significant changes occurring from June to August 2025. Users will no longer be able to save or autofill passwords, and all saved passwords will become inaccessible by August 2025, as the company shifts its focus towards passkeys and the Edge browser for password management. Microsoft cites a rise in password-related attacks as the reason for this transition, urging users to export their passwords to alternative managers before the deadline.
