High levels of grass pollen are expected on Saturday across the Midlands, central, southern and south-west England, and London, affecting about 95% of hay fever sufferers, with peak season lasting until July. Approximately 13 million people in the UK suffer from hay fever, which is triggered by various pollens, with tree pollen affecting around 25% of sufferers in early spring. This year’s dry, warm, and windy weather has contributed to high pollen levels across most regions.
