Around the world, fungal infections cause approximately 2.5 million deaths annually, with new research indicating that Aspergillus fungi may spread due to rising global temperatures. Aspergillus flavus, particularly harmful and resistant to treatments, could expand its range by 16% in certain regions, posing threats to human health and food security. While some areas may become inhospitable to these fungi, the warming climate may enhance their survival, complicating diagnosis and treatment, especially for vulnerable populations.
