A Louisiana inmate, Tra’Von Johnson, was recaptured on Friday after escaping from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail the previous day, marking his second escape in a year. Johnson, who was awaiting trial for a 2022 home invasion resulting in a man’s death, managed to flee during a cleaning incident that inadvertently left doors open. Following a public tip, authorities found him close to the jail, and he has since been charged with simple escape, while an investigation into jail staff failures and the incident leading to his escape is ongoing.
