A retired FBI special agent raised concerns after 10 inmates escaped from Orleans Parish Jail in New Orleans, with five still at large. The escape occurred through a hole behind a toilet and took over seven hours to be noticed, highlighting staffing issues, as only 36 officers monitored 1,400 inmates. A maintenance worker, Sterling Williams, was arrested for assisting the escape by turning off water as directed by an inmate, with the incident underscoring broader security weaknesses in the correctional system.
