Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is attempting a political comeback by running for New York City mayor, leveraging an investigation by Trump’s Department of Justice into his pandemic response as a rallying point. His main opposition comes from candidates further left, but Cuomo’s focus on infrastructure achievements and portraying himself as a victim of political attacks may resonate with voters seeking strong leadership.
