Former Harvard morgue manager pleads guilty to trafficking body parts from donated cadavers

Cedric Lodge, the former manager of the Harvard Medical School morgue, pleaded guilty to stealing body parts from donated cadavers and selling them, facing a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Lodge admitted to transporting stolen human remains across several states from 2018 to 2020, removing organs and other body parts without consent after research use. His actions, described as an “abhorrent betrayal” by Harvard, led to his termination in May 2023, and several others, including his wife, have also pleaded guilty in related cases.
