The UK is considering sanctions against Israeli ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir due to escalating violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza, reflecting growing frustration with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s far-right government. British Foreign Minister David Lammy criticized Smotrich’s recent comments about Gaza and announced travel bans and asset freezes targeting individuals inciting violence. Amidst the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the UK is also discussing potential recognition of a Palestinian state in collaboration with France and Saudi Arabia.
