Rockhampton’s Fitzroy River will be assessed to determine its suitability for hosting rowing and sprint canoeing during the 2032 Games, with concerns about its current and crocodile presence. Outgoing IOC president Thomas Bach stated the venue would be evaluated in July, amid potential discussions of relocating events to the Sydney International Regatta Centre if necessary. Local organizers hope to secure a Queensland venue to ensure a lasting legacy for rowing in the region.
