In a recent briefing in Tel Aviv, Israeli Defence Forces spokesman Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani responded to Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand’s criticism of Israel’s actions in the Gaza war, emphasizing that Hamas does not differentiate between civilians and combatants. While Anand labeled Israel’s military response as “aggression” and discussed the need for Hamas to disarm and release hostages, Shoshani asserted that Israel aims to minimize civilian harm and is compelled to act against terrorist threats. He reiterated that Hamas initiated the conflict and could end it by laying down their weapons.
