Uber Launches Route Share Service
Uber has introduced a new service called Route Share in the US, which allows riders to share a car over a predetermined route with set pickup points, leading to mockery on social media for essentially creating a bus-like service. The service promises costs up to 50% lower than UberX, with users walking to designated pickup spots, and it will be available in cities like New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. Previous attempts at similar services by other companies, such as Lyft and Ford, did not achieve long-term success, raising questions about the viability of this model.
