Londoners are facing exorbitant parking fees, with Islington having the highest resident parking permit cost in the UK at £1,073 for older diesel cars, significantly above the national average of £128. Taxi driver Sandy Conway, who experienced a 960% increase in her parking permit from £29 to £421, now has to park her eco-friendly car outside the borough due to affordability issues.
