A man, Sunia Mano To‘ofohe, a Comanchero gang member, was found with a substantial stash of methamphetamine in his bedroom, enough to supply the Wellington region for over two months. He was arrested in May 2023 after being stopped by police at a Levin service station while returning from Auckland and was unaware he was under investigation in Operation Elusive, which targeted methamphetamine distribution in Wellington. The judge dismissed To‘ofohe’s claim that the drugs were for personal use, highlighting the scale of his supply.
