Dalia Sarig, a pro-Palestine activist, experienced a painful estrangement from her Jewish family, particularly her father, after staging a pro-Palestine demonstration following escalating tensions since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack. Experts note that the social isolation stemming from such family fractures can have significant mental health impacts, as social pain is biologically real.
