Patrick Spencer, the Conservative MP for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault related to incidents that reportedly occurred at the Groucho Club in August 2023, involving two separate women. Following a voluntary interview with the Metropolitan Police, the 37-year-old MP will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 16, 2025. The Conservative Party has withdrawn the whip from Spencer, meaning he will now sit as an independent MP as criminal proceedings are now active and he retains the right to a fair trial.
