Hamas has released Edan Alexander, a 21-year-old Israeli-American hostage held for 19 months, amid efforts for a ceasefire, coinciding with US President Trump’s visit to the Middle East. Alexander, who was captured while serving in the Israeli army, was handed over to Red Cross workers in Gaza and reunited with his family in Israel, as his family urged continued negotiations for the remaining 58 hostages. Israeli officials stated that the military offensive against Hamas will continue, with plans for expanded actions if no deal is reached.
