NEW YORK: Donald Trump sat in the Manhattan Criminal Courts with his lawyers as they debated what evidence could be presented in his trial. The former US president appeared focused and mostly silent, except for a few words exchanged with Judge Juan Merchan. The trial is taking place in courtroom 1530 of an Art Deco courthouse on Centre Street in New York City. Trump, wearing his signature red tie, white shirt, and dark blue suit, listened intently as the trial began. The judge declared the trial open as Trump looked defiant, accusing the judge of corruption on social media.
