High School Baseball
On May 8, Riverside defeated Pampa 4-3 in Class 4A, Division 2, led by José Padilla’s strong pitching performance and contributions from José Núñez and Carlos Rojas. In Class 5A, Division 1, Amarillo High secured an 8-0 victory over El Dorado, while Lubbock Cooper narrowly edged Horizon 1-0 in Division 2. In high school softball, Grapevine triumphed over Del Valle 13-1 in the Class 5A, Division 2 regional semifinals, and in EPCC baseball, Weatherford beat El Paso Community College 12-5, highlighted by Alan Nava and Carlos Maudin’s home runs.
