Odessa College head baseball coach David Wood has been awarded the Western Junior College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in his inaugural season, leading the Wranglers to a 38-14 overall record and a 30-6 mark in the WJCAC, securing the program’s first conference title since 2017. The Wranglers are set to compete against Cisco College in the first round of the Region V Southwest Tournament, with Game 1 scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Wrangler Ballpark. Wood’s achievement highlights a successful turnaround for the team this season.
