Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza are facing severe food shortages due to a crippling Israeli blockade, with many only able to eat once every two to three days, according to UNRWA. Over 66,000 children are suffering from severe malnutrition, and at least 57 Palestinians have died of starvation since October 2023, while nearly 2.3 million rely entirely on humanitarian aid. The Israeli Security Cabinet’s recent plan to distribute aid through US contractors has been rejected by the UN and international aid groups for not adhering to humanitarian principles.
