DOJ pushes for Google to sell its advertising platforms

In April, a US District Court determined that Google monopolized open-web digital ad markets, leading to a conflict with the US Justice Department (DOJ) over potential remedies. The DOJ demands that Google sell its Ad Exchange (AdX) and Google Ad Manager to enhance competition, while Google plans to appeal the ruling and has proposed changes to allow rival ad servers to bid on AdX. Google argues that the DOJ’s divestiture request exceeds the court’s ruling and could harm the advertising ecosystem by disrupting essential tools for publishers and advertisers.
