Team Principal Christian Horner argued that Russell did not comply with the regulations, while Mercedes contended that significantly lifting the throttle was an acceptable response to the yellow flag. After reviewing telemetry data, officials determined that Russell had indeed reduced his speed relative to regular racing conditions, leading to the dismissal of the complaint.
