PAP sweeps to victory as Singaporeans vote for stability

Singapore’s People’s Action Party (PAP) secured its 16th consecutive election victory, winning 87 out of 97 seats and receiving 66% of the popular vote, reflecting increased voter support amid global trade tensions. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, who assumed leadership last year, emphasized the results as a signal of stability and confidence for the nation, which is heavily reliant on trade. The opposition Workers’ Party maintained 10 seats and gained two non-constituency seats, with leader Pritam Singh acknowledging the challenges faced during the campaign.
