Two commercial flights were forced to perform “go-arounds” at Ronald Reagan National Airport due to an Army Black Hawk helicopter conducting operations near the airport, prompting U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to demand answers from the Pentagon. No injuries occurred, but the incident is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA, especially following a deadly mid-air collision in January that raised concerns about airspace safety. The NTSB has suggested imposing stricter helicopter traffic regulations near the airport to mitigate risks.
