Wanda Barzee Arrested for Violating Sex Offender Status
Wanda Barzee, the woman involved in the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, was arrested in Utah for visiting public parks, which is prohibited for registered sex offenders. The 79-year-old Barzee was taken into custody at her Salt Lake City home after police learned of her visits to Liberty Park and Sugar House Park in April. Barzee, who was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for her role in Smart’s abduction, was released in 2018, and her husband, Brian David Mitchell, is serving a life sentence for the crime.
