A 9/11 responder with pancreatic cancer and two others with new cancer diagnoses have been denied chemotherapy due to a freeze on certifications within the federally funded World Trade Center Health Program, as reported by Dr. David Prezant. The program is currently unable to process new certifications or enroll new members due to staffing cuts and budget issues, exacerbated by the removal of key personnel. This has left patients reliant on the program without essential treatment and facing uncertainty about the restoration of services.
