Millbrook Police Chief PK Johnson told the Daily Mail in an interview this week that Kelley, 27, was holding a sign at the side of the road that said “a ride for a ride” and tried to claim “that it was not illegal for her to offer herself in exchange for rides.”

“She was not appropriately dressed. She didn’t have the things covered that needed to be covered. And she was holding the ‘Ride for a Ride’ sign while she was in that state and with drivers going by, displaying herself,” Johnson said.

Court documents obtained by AL.com revealed that at the time of her arrest, Kelley had been exposing herself at a busy intersection.

“When officers tried to arrest her, she would not identify herself and sat down on the roadside, refusing to comply with police,” the outlet reported.

“She refused to comply with the officer; she wouldn’t provide any information. She then yelled at the officer and when she was told she was under arrest, she resisted the officer and sat on the roadside, refusing to cooperate any further,” a Millbrook Municipal Court representative added in a statement to USA Today.

Kelley is the youngest child of Judd and her first husband, Arch Kelley III and has a history of arrests dating back nearly a decade.

Back in December 2015, Kelley was arrested and charged with promotion of meth manufacture, according to Radar Online. Since then, the mother-of-one has been in and out of jail.

In a 2020 interview, Judd spoke about her daughter’s troubles saying her issues made her “no different than anyone else.”

“I’ve got kids who have made great successful choices. I have just as much to say about the testimony —  emphasis on the word ‘test’ — of both my children saying, ‘Wow, that didn’t work,’” the country singer said during an appearance on The Pursuit! with John Rich.

But Judd defended her daughter, saying, “I will tell you this. My daughter is the strongest Judd woman in our ‘herstory.’ She’s healthier than I was at 23. How she got there — I would not go that way, but I was also sequestered. Please provide the content that needs to be rewritten with HTML tags.
