Outgoing Senator Linda Reynolds sues Commonwealth, law firm over Brittany Higgins’ .4m settlement

Linda Reynolds is suing the Federal Government over a $2.4 million settlement with her former staffer Brittany Higgins concerning the handling of Higgins’ alleged rape at Parliament House. Reynolds’ legal action also targets law firm HWL Ebsworth, involved in the settlement, as her lawyer expressed her “fury” over being excluded from the settlement process. The senator, who is retiring after the May 3 federal election, has a separate defamation case against Higgins and her husband over social media posts that she claims portrayed her negatively.
