New league table to reveal where foreign criminals come from and what they did

The Home Office will publish a league table revealing the nationalities and offences of foreign criminals facing deportation, marking the first detailed breakdown of this data. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper overruled officials who deemed data collection too challenging, and the information is expected to be available by year-end. While Labour is deporting at a faster rate than the Conservatives, the number of individuals awaiting removal has increased, with 19,244 foreign criminals recorded as of last year, up from 17,907 under the previous administration.
