NASA astronaut Don Pettit celebrated his seventieth birthday by returning to Earth after a 220-day mission aboard the International Space Station, traveling in a Soyuz MS-26 capsule with two Russian cosmonauts. This marked Pettit’s fourth spaceflight, during which he conducted experiments on 3D printing, water sanitization, and plant growth in microgravity. After landing near Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, he will adjust to life on Earth before heading back to the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, while his crewmates continue their journey to a training base in Russia.
