On April 20, over a hundred peaceful picnickers gathered in Melbourne’s Flagstaff Gardens to advocate for cannabis legalization during the global “420” celebration. Fiona Patten, lead senate candidate for the Legalise Cannabis party, emphasized the need for reforming laws against recreational marijuana use, while the event included campaigners distributing information and entertainment amidst a police presence. Patten aims to reform cannabis regulations and enable states to legislate on its use, reflecting widespread public support for decriminalization in Australia.
