Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has dismissed a professor accused of sexual harassment by a Japanese embassy official, following a unanimous decision by the university’s executive council. The professor, who faced multiple allegations of misconduct, was terminated without retirement benefits after an internal investigation found him guilty. In addition, the university has taken disciplinary action against seven other individuals, including the dismissal of another professor for misappropriation of research funds, with the case now transferred to the CBI.
