Paramilitaries in Sudan, particularly the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), have killed over 200 civilians in recent attacks around El Fasher amidst escalating violence in the Darfur region, with targeted assaults leading to the deaths of aid workers and the destruction of medical facilities. The UN and the US condemned the RSF for genocide and the army for attacking civilians, as the conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and massive displacement, described as the worst humanitarian crisis ever recorded.
