Richmond has decided not to include Noah Balta in their AFL side as he awaits sentencing for a serious assault charge, despite serving a four-match ban. The decision follows public backlash and criticism from Victorian premier Jacinta Allen, who questioned the message being sent to children by allowing Balta to be considered for selection. Balta has pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and will be sentenced on April 22.
