The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, responsible for the deadly 7 October attacks on Israel, is claiming to be a “resistance movement” and not a threat to Britain, seeking to be removed from the UK government’s list of terrorist organizations. Hamas argues that it is a Palestinian Islamic liberation and resistance movement aimed at liberating Palestine and opposing the Zionist project, despite its involvement in the attacks that resulted in over 1,200 deaths and 250 hostages in southern Israel.
