Prince Harry is appealing a decision by the Home Office to deny him personal police security in Britain after stepping down from royal duties in 2020, with the British government arguing that his security situation is unique. Despite living in California with his wife Meghan and children, Harry, 40, has returned to London’s Royal Courts of Justice for the appeal, which was granted after his initial challenge was rejected by the High Court last year. The government’s lawyers defended the decision to adopt a “bespoke” security approach for Harry, citing security assessment benefits and the need to focus on future facts during the two-day hearing.
