Forgery threatened the residents of Burrow Road in an escalation of dispute over building

The alleged unauthorised structure on Burrow Road in Sutton

Fingal County Council has admitted a letter apparently issued by its legal department explaining its failure to take ­enforcement action against an allegedly unauthorised building was a fake.

The letter, claiming to be from the council’s law agent, was issued to residents of the Burrow Road in Sutton, one of the more desirable addresses in the north Dublin coastal suburb.
