Israel supreme court gives deadline for solution on security chief dismissal

The decision, announced last month by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been challenged in court and temporarily frozen. Protests and interruptions during the hearing led to a recess, with the court resuming without an audience. Bar has pushed back against the government’s move, calling it politically motivated and aimed at preventing investigations. Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has also raised concerns about a personal conflict influencing the decision to oust Bar.
