Thousands rally in Morocco at pro-Palestinian protest

Tens of thousands of people protested in Rabat against Israel’s offensive in Gaza, led by Morocco’s Justice and Development party, with chants and flags bearing images of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar. Since the offensive resumed on March 18, over 1,330 people have been killed in Gaza, with a total death toll of 50,695 since the conflict began in October 2023. Demonstrators demanded an end to the siege of Gaza, aid access, and the severing of Morocco’s ties with Israel, calling such relations “treason”.
