An Australian man underwent surgery for facial injuries after a confrontation between Auckland FC and Western Sydney Wanderers fans at a city stadium. Two people were arrested, including a 46-year-old man for assault. The victim, an Australian national, was injured in the grandstand altercation during Saturday’s game at Go Media Stadium and required surgery at Middlemore Hospital.
