The parents of Bucknell freshman football player CJ Dickey Jr., who died after collapsing during a workout, have filed a lawsuit against the school, alleging negligence for not having protocols in place to protect their son, who had sickle cell anemia. Dickey died from rhabdomyolysis, a sickle cell-related condition, after struggling during a punishment workout. Bucknell has acknowledged the lawsuit and expressed condolences, while the family seeks unspecified compensation and aims to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
