Brian Vu, a visually impaired NBA fan, had a groundbreaking experience at a Portland Trail Blazers game using the OneCourt haptic device, which allows users to follow the game through vibrations and audio updates. Vu felt every play despite not being able to see, enhancing his fan experience and sense of independence. OneCourt founder Jerred Mace’s vision for the device stemmed from his personal experiences and has been embraced by the NBA to provide visually impaired fans with a more immersive live sports experience.
